I’ve been a baaaaad blogger.  And yes, I say like sheepishly.

Someone told me once that I should only blog about the music.  Well, what happens when the music has taken a short-lived backseat to other things, like motherhood or buying a house?  Does that mean I should not write sweet nothings on my website during this slow period?  The answer is no, in my opinion.  It’s my damn website, and you wouldn’t be here reading this if you didn’t have some interest in my thoughts and feelings.

I’m looking forward to this show at Lincoln Hall next Thursday (Jan 28) because it’s going to be a great night all around.  The venue is amazing, the other bands are smoking hot and crazy talented, and my band is sounding tighter and looking hipper than ever before.  I swear, we are in prime condition to tour, which is something I’m considering doing before Eliza turns into a curiosity-driven toddler that needs constant monitoring.

Let me tell you, being a mom is AWESOME.  I’m totally cut out for it.  I bring her everywhere with me, and she’s so chill and smiley, so we’re welcomed by all who see us coming.  I got her those baby headphones you see kids wearing at festivals, so I can rock like mad and she is hardly effected.  It’s just so crazy, I never thought I would fall in love this hard.  She’s my everything right now, and I cannot wait to find the balance necessary to not lose my identity in my child.

I’m working on some new music, trying to finish a dozen songs that I’ve started over the last year.  It’s slow going, due to my lack of extended amounts of time with which to concentrate, but I’ll have some new tunes for your listening pleasure in the near future.
