(Eliza at 6 days old)

Hi!  I feel that I should reintroduce myself, as I am now completely different, and my life has been completely changed.  I thought I knew all about love, and a human being’s capacity for it, but I was wrong.  I fell head-over-heels in love at 9:42 pm on Sunday, August 30th with my daughter Eliza.  The minute I laid eyes on her, a big chunk of my brain shut down, and I knew that I was going to be 100% focused on her for quite a while.  Seriously, this is probably the fourth time in a month that I’ve opened my laptop.  All of the facebooking I’ve been doing has been from my iPhone, whilst nursing and watching an HBO or Showtime original series on demand.  What a difference a little baby makes!

Let me tell you a fun fact about Eliza really quick, ‘cause I think she’s absolutely fascinating.  My husband Tommy has figured out that no matter how hungry, tired or fussy she is, all he has to do is blast some beats, preferably hip hop, and bounce her to the rhythm of the music, and she’s either out like a light, or perfectly serene.  I think that’s just hilarious.  Seriously, she’ll be in the throws of hysteria, and all he has to do is groove with her for not even a minute.

I guess I just wanted to pop on here and let ya’ll know that SHE HAS ARRIVED, and that I have been hit with the devoted Mommy bug WAY more intensely than I thought I would be…  I am slowly but surely getting my head around other things, but the bottom line is that I know she won’t be this tiny and helpless forever, and I know that I won’t have any regrets if I enjoy this time with her for as long as I can. 

I’ll be out rocking a little this month, and the next, so stay tuned!  Oh, and I’ll be on NATIONAL TELEVISION on October 30th, performing with my band and doing an interview on WGN!!!  YAYYY!!!
