Hilarious, goofball pregnant photo

I know, it’s a ridiculous photo.  Here I am, 38 weeks pregnant, two weeks away from my due date, laughing my head off, ‘cause I’m sure my friend/photographer Cara Garbarino said something hilarious.  I am expecting my first child to come any day now, and I can’t even begin to explain what a crazy feeling it is, just waiting for the arrival of someone you have never met, but you know is going to INSTANTLY change your life.  My husband and I are ready for her…  Her little things are in place, her clothes are washed and folded, and her car seat has been installed for a month now.  I swear, it has saved me from a moving violation at least once.

It’s available on CDBaby, and will be on iTunes very soon, so stay tuned for that info. The actual cd is really cool, though…  There’s a lyric book inside, and I hand wrote the liner notes/credits. I’m working on getting it into a store near you.

Going to WTTW last night was one of the coolest things ever. Phil Ponce is a really awesome host/interviewer… I got to play and sing two songs on the piano, and I can’t wait to see it tonight!!! It airs at around 7:40, so be sure to check it out. Regardless, I’ll have a copy, so I’ll put in on YouTube or something. I can’t wait until I can perform with my band on ABC on the 12th @ 11:30!!!

Tonight is the first of the two CD release shows, and I think the crowd is going to be HUGE, ‘cause I’ve been doing tons of interviews/getting a lot of press:

Metro Mix
Daily Herald
Chicago Tribune
Kane County Chronicle
The Deli Magazine

If you cannot attend either show (shame on you. Just kidding!) I will be have footage of the Thursday’s show @ Subterranean to post around the internet. I will also be recording the audio, so there might be some crude bootleg action circulating around.

Let’s do this.

Hello, and welcome to my new website! Thanks for stopping by! Can I get you something to drink? I have always longed to have a colorful, clean online hang-out area to have friends over, swap stories, but above all else, to be the mothership of all things ME. I hope you enjoy poking around.

On the right, you’ll see my most recent “tweet”. Above that, you can buy my record, and below that, you can buy t-shirts (and, eventually, other merchandise). You should totally join my mailing list as well, so I can whisper sweet nothings into your inbox, and keep you in the Leslie loop. Click on the little social networking buttons, too, in case you’re a facebook purist or something…...

TWOP’s Jacob Clifton writes:

What I love most about this album is the way it unflinchingly discusses the travails of becoming a functioning adult, without ever failing to bring the story back to the center. Any pain is met with a larger view, or a conflicting perspective, that means even the most painful memory is not only bearable, but will eventually become part of the beauty we create.

As a meditative instruction booklet for self-love, for love of others, and for honoring our spirit, the sentiments are tempered by Leslie’s playfulness and love of both words and music, offering us a glimpse of a quirky and deeply felt hope that, in listening, begins to feel nothing less than essential…..
